In 2020 and 2021, I had the incredible opportunity of working on the animated documentary Home is Somewhere Else, from animation studios Brinca, Casiopea, Llamarada and Virus Mecánico. Even though I was originally hired as a storyboard artist, I also had the opportunity to take on other roles, including concept art, character design, rough and cleanup animation. Seeing our work on the big screen was a dream come true, and I hope to continue working on creative projects such as that one.
Concept Art and Background Design
The goal was to create a playful and simplistic style inspired by the illustrations provided by the story's author, an 8-year-old named Jasmine. The character designs were crafted by her, while the concepts and backgrounds were designed to complement her artwork.
